I find that most people who read true crime stories do so because the concept of harming others is something they simply can't wrap their heads around.

The amazing Ann Rule, who wrote "The Stranger Beside Me," among other great works, summed it up best when she explained that the vast majority of true crime aficionados are the type of people who put a spider outside rather than killing it.

Sandra's story is unique for so many reasons. It's easy to forget that she was just a child when the horrible events that would change her life forever took place. I hope she is in a good place now, both mentally and physically, which seems to be the case.
