Open Water is one of my favorites and I too always hope against hope for a happy ending. It's a powerful film that never fails to send my anxiety levels through the roof. That it doesn't stray far from the actual events makes the tension almost unbearable.

I hadn't heard about the SIGN IN board policy. Brilliant idea and so simple. While this measure—and others like it—came too late for Tom and Eileen, perhaps their loved ones have found some peace in the knowledge that their sacrifice has undoubtedly saved others.
