Well said. I agree that she would have been getting off easy with seven years behind bars. The fact that she was released with what amounts to a slap on the wrist is maddening. How the judge, in all her wisdom, viewed Megan as a "child" is beyond me. An actual child would have known better than to pour a caustic substance on their parent, or any living being for that matter. As a young adult on the cusp of her eighteenth birthday, there was no excuse for her behavior. Spite and an undeserved sense of entitlement shouldn't be 'get out of jail free' cards.
